Join our Facebook Group

Join our Facebook group in order to stay up to date on sketchcrawls, supply information, other sketchers, and more artwork. To be in our Facebook group, you do not have to regularly sketch or even sketch at all! There are no membership requirements at all. This is perfect for those of you who do not have time to sketch once a month. You just have to have a passion for on-site sketching.

Just search for "Urban Sketchers Cleveland" on Facebook and click to join. I'll try to answer these requests as soon as possible, usually within a day.

We will begin selecting new blog members from the Facebook page, so if you'd like to become a member on our blog, start by contributing on the Facebook page.

Have a great day!

The Trestle

This is the railroad trestle in the Metroparks in Berea. Wanted to make sure I got a sketch in today on the day of the 34th World Wide SketchCrawl!

We gathered for a Sketch Crawl at the Cleveland Museum of Art in the Roman and Greek galleries. Nothing like a little art to warm up a cold day in Cleveland.

Art Supply Store

As every good location sketcher needs, here is my favorite art supply store. It's at the Greens of Lyndhurst on Mayfield Road near Brainard. I pick up a lot of stuff there, markers, paints, brushes, paper, pencils, erasers, and more. Because it's on my way to work, I stop there far too often! :D

Museum of Art

We went to the Cleveland Museum of Art Saturday. I got there a little late, so I only got these three sketches done. The two pencil sketches are of marble sculptures, the watercolor is of a bronze.

New Year's Day Sketchcrawl

Spent the first day of the New Year drawing at Beachwood Mall with Mina, Karen, and Noreen. We drew at center court for a while, and then Mina and I drew under stairs to the rear of the Santa Claus chair. Even though the mall was a little busy, we were pretty much undisturbed. Though, we kept joking that the mall security guards were watching us.

Before I left, I stopped at Lush and bought some soap from their annual buy 1 get 1 free sale.
